American Express Customer online purchases are influenced by Merchant acceptance of their card:
- 54% of Australia Cardmembers, who have purchased online in the past 12 months, would prefer to use the American Express Card for Internet purchases.1
- 64% search for the American Express logo on that website before making a purchase online.1
- 34% feel that Internet retailers provide better Customer Service compared to those that did not accept the American Express card.1
- 74% American Express customers are more likely to re-visit an Internet retailer who accepts the American Express card.1

Merchant Requirements for using the American Express name and logo on the Internet |
| |

- Only organisations with a valid agreement with American Express and additional Internet Addendum may use the American Express logo on their Web sites
- The American Express logo must not be modified, shortened or altered in any way
- In accordance with the terms of your agreement with American Express, the logo should receive no less than equal prominence with other card acceptance logos on your Web site
