More Days to Pay

How Many Days You Have to Pay

To ensure that everyone has enough time to review their statements, the new credit card laws require that billing statements be mailed at least 21 days before the due date beginning in August 2009.

How many days do I have to pay my American Express Card bill?

About 25 days. The new legislation requires that billing statements be mailed at least 21 days before the due date. In the past, we mailed our statements 20–25 days before the due date, so, depending on your product, you may not notice a change.

TIP: Update AutoPay

If you pay your American Express bill automatically, be sure to update your AutoPay settings. And stay tuned—soon your payment due date will be the same date each month. If you do not pay your bill automatically, you may want to consider enrolling in AutoPay.
