Cardmembers can also redeem points for one-of-a-kind experiential rewards with select partners – including an hour-long spin as guest DJ at a New York City lounge, and access to exclusive tasting menus not available to the general public. “New York City buzzes with an energy and excitement that appeals to people who want to get the best out of every experience,” said Gordon Smith, president, U.S. Consumer Card Services Group, American Express. “The IN:NYC Card is for New Yorkers who know that the day's not over when the sun goes down.” Using the IN:NYC Card, Cardmembers can earn one point for virtually every dollar spent. They can earn rewards even faster with double points on city essentials such as dining, movies, mobile phone service, cable and satellite TV service, Internet service, gym membership, and magazine/newspaper subscriptions.2 IN:NYC Cardmembers can also share or transfer INSIDE Rewards points with friends and family in order to earn their rewards more quickly, a benefit available only with the IN:NYC Card.3 Another IN:NYC benefit provides Cardmembers with VIP access to concert venues such as Irving Plaza. In addition, Cardmembers can purchase advance tickets to other select entertainment events around the city. The IN:NYC Card also offers weekly savings with a variety of retail and spa partners as part of the Card's “Tuesdays IN:NYC” benefit. Consumers, including Cardmembers, can enter to qualify for the latest VIP events, register for event alerts and earn a variety of free benefits from dining and lounge partners. Visitors can also apply for a Card at the site. Advertising will hit the New York City area on October 5th in a print and outdoor media campaign that includes subways and stations, bus shelters, merchant establishments and local publications. The campaign's theme, “Get the Most Out of NYC,” subtly captures many elements of the city's unique personality. In true IN:NYC style, American Express will introduce the Card during the SoHo art exhibit with an exclusive party on the evening of October 7th, where award-winning music artist Wyclef Jean will perform live for invited guests. The art exhibit, created by internationally acclaimed artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, is a large-scale chrome and stainless-steel pavilion, and engages visitors with a variety of programming elements that respond to the culture of the city in which it is displayed. For this exhibition, the artist has developed a film and music program particularly suited to this locale. The exhibition is made possible through a donation by American Express. The exhibit will open to the public on Friday, October 8th, at 1 p.m., and will remain open continuously until Saturday, October 9th, at 11 p.m. It will then re-open on Sunday, October 10th, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Monday, October 11th, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery space, Skylight, is located at 275 Hudson Street (between Spring & Dominick Streets), in New York City. Tiravanija's work, Untitled 2002 (he promised), measures approximately 40' long, 20' wide, and 10' high, and serves as both a discrete sculptural work and a platform for social activities, such as meals, lectures, film screenings, and performances.
