More Ways to Earn Rewards for Tax Payments
All American Express Cardmembers who are part of a rewards program have an opportunity to earn rewards for their tax payments.
Blue Cash® from American Express can deliver cash back for annual purchases - including income tax payments. The Blue Cash rebate is based on how much Cardmembers spend annually and where they spend, as well as whether they extend payment.4 Only the first $50,000 of annual Blue Cash spend are eligible for rebate.
Hilton HHonors® Platinum Credit Cardmembers can earn three Hilton HHonors bonus points when paying their taxes on the Card. Hilton HHonors points are redeemable in a variety of rewards categories, including free hotel stays, vacation packages, air travel and merchandise.
Cardmembers enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program can earn one point for virtually every dollar spent when paying their taxes. Points are then redeemable for a wide selection of rewards that include travel and vacation packages, retail merchandise, dining and entertainment, unique experiences and more.
"When consumers can get something in return for filing taxes, tax time can become surprisingly rewarding," said Belinda Lang, vice president, Cobrand Portfolios at American Express. "American Express Cardmembers can earn valuable points, miles or cash that bring them closer to a relaxing vacation, an amazing experience or a well-deserved gift."
