YOUR WISHLIST IS OUR COMMAND

Holiday shoppers gear up for the frenzy and excitement of American Express' My WishList e-tail site and their chance to snag the season’s hottest items at unheard of prices

NEW YORK, November 16, 2006 -- Holiday shoppers looking for the ultimate bargain this season now have a chance to actually create the deals they covet. Whether it's a three carat diamond ring for the price of a cubic zirconia or that hot new game console for the price of a joystick, American Express is looking to make wishes a reality by re-opening their popular e-tail site My WishList (www.theholidaywishlist.com). Consumers can log on now through November 20th to submit their dream holiday purchases along with the prices they are willing to pay for them, and American Express will grant three of the wishes. Since My WishList went live on November 1st, tens of thousands of consumers have already logged on to submit wishes. The three “granted” WishList items will be made available to other Cardmembers at the same dream prices.

"All you have to do is submit a wish and it may become more than just a dream," said Penni Berns, vice president, Network and Merchant Marketing, American Express. "The response to My WishList has been so overwhelming, we've brought it back to give Cardmembers access to some of the gifts and "toys" they want most, at a value only American Express can provide."

This “Call for Wishes” leads up to the site's storefront opening on November 28th – “Wish Tuesday” – which offers all Cardmembers the opportunity to buy limited quantities of the season's most sought-after items at unheard of prices, including:

  • Porsche Cayman Coupe (WishList price: $5,000.00),
  • Tahiti Regent Cruise Packages (WishList price: $2500.00),
  • Callaway FT-3 Fusion Titanium Drivers (WishList price: $175.00) and
  • Sharp Aquos(TM) Televisions (WishList price: $900.00).

Starting November 28th Cardmembers can visit My WishList during designated times – noon, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern Time – and click on the “I WANT IT!” button for one-click opportunities to find Black Friday-style “door-buster” deals at dream prices. Cardmembers can sign up for e-mail alerts so they will be notified when specific dream items of interest are offered.

"Because of our relationships with the world's top merchants, My WishList is able to offer Cardmembers a chance at these limited once-in-a-lifetime offers,” said Berns. “How often do you have a chance to buy a $50,000 Porsche for $5,000?"

My WishList will also provide access to values from leading manufacturers such as Motorola, West Elm, Sony and Tory Burch among others. From November 1st – December 31st, the My WishList site features additional offers on jewelry, electronics, toys, apparel, travel and entertainment from more than 200 American Express national and local merchant partners.

Past WishList promotions not only proved to be overwhelming successes, but coupled with additional consumer research by American Express, they also played a critical role in crafting this year's ultimate holiday WishList – valued collectively at nearly $6 million – full of luxury cars, travel packages, jewelry, the latest electronics and more.

The promotion takes place at www.theholidaywishlist.com and is open to all U.S. consumers with American Express-branded cards.
