AMERICAN EXPRESS, CLEAR ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC MARKETING PARTNERSHIP FOR CORPORATE CARDS

NEW YORK, November 06, 2007 -- Clear®, the leading service provider of registered traveler security express lanes at U.S. airports, announced today a strategic marketing partnership with American Express. Through the partnership, American Express corporate cardmembers will receive preferred pricing on Clear's annual membership and appointment enrollment privileges at Clear's network of off-airport city enrollment centers.

Clear members have access to a separate, express security lane by using an identity card containing their encrypted fingerprint or iris images.

  • Members are able to pass through security faster, with more predictability and less hassle.
  • The annual fee of $99.95 is charged once applicants are approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
  • Clear has 75,000 members nationwide who use their Clear card at a growing number of airports participating in the program.

American Express will offer Clear to millions of its most frequent business travelers, its corporate cardmembers, who will receive:

  • Preferred pricing on Clear's annual membership
  • Appointment services that allow them to pre-book times for biometric scanning
  • Added convenience when enrolling 50 or more employees, by delivering enrollment kiosks to their office buildings, enabling travelers to sign up for Clear in the convenience of their own offices

American Express corporate cardmembers can simply go online to flyclear.com/axpcorporate to start their enrollment process using this special offer. The process is then completed in person at an enrollment location where their fingerprints and iris images are captured and their identification is validated.

Clear will also install enrollment stations in conveniently-located American Express Travel offices including the one at the World Financial Center in the heart of New York's Wall Street area.

"Millions of corporate card customers rely on American Express to make their lives more convenient and stress-free. By partnering with Clear, we are substantially improving the quality of our cardmembers' travel experience," said Shelle Santana, VP, Global Commercial Card Marketing and Customer Experience, American Express Company. "Whether you run a company that wants to encourage employee productivity on the road or are a traveler who is frustrated by long security lines, Clear offers a solution that can help you spend your time the way you want."

"As the leading commercial card issuer and the largest business travel company in the world, few companies know more than American Express about the trials and tribulations of business travel. Our partnership will allow us to sign up travelers at companies across the country," said Steve Brill, Clear's CEO. "American Express will market Clear to the business community and will help expand the Clear network. As with our recent and imminent openings of Clear express lanes at multiple airports across the country," Brill added, "the addition of the world's leading travel services brand to our team makes the continued national roll-out of the program no longer a question of ‘if' or ‘when,' but simply a matter of ‘how fast."'
