MEKONGBANK ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS SECOND AMERICAN EXPRESS BRANDED CARD
Phnom Penh, October 01, 2007 -- Cambodia Mekong Bank Public Limited ("MekongBank"), and American Express today announced the launch of the MekongBank American Express Credit Card, the classic green version of the Card, specifically designed for the middle tier of the Cambodian market. The Card will be issued in US Dollars and will carry MekongBank's name. The launch of the classic green version of the Card, follows last year's launch of the Gold Credit Card and is the second American Express-branded Card issued by MekongBank to serve the needs of varied market segments in Cambodia.
In June 2005, American Express and MekongBank signed an Independent Operator Agreement which gives MekongBank the exclusive license to issue American Express Cards and to enroll merchants to accept the American Express Card in Cambodia.
The MekongBank American Express Credit Card will be accepted throughout the American Express global merchant network. The Card provides a unique range of benefits and services, including global acceptance by merchants in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide; 24-hour customer service; exclusive Cardmember promotions for dining, shopping, leisure, healthcare and accommodation, both locally and across the region; personal travel accident insurance; emergency support services while traveling abroad; access to more than 800,000 ATMs worldwide; and access to more than 2,200 American Express Travel Services Offices in more than 140 countries.
