NEW YORK, November 02, 2009 -- Today American Express launched ˇFelicidades!(1), a new holiday gift card that will be available for customers to purchase online, starting November 2, 2009 through January 15, 2010 at americanexpress.com/felicidades. The new gift card's unique name and design celebrates Hispanic culture and provides unique gift options for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's and Three King's Day.
The ˇFelicidades! gift card was developed in collaboration with American Express' global diversity team and AHORA, the company's Hispanic employee network. Members of AHORA were instrumental in guiding the physical design of the card and in making sure that the product speaks to unique aspects of Hispanic traditions, such as extending the gift giving to include important holidays in the culture like Three King's Day in January. Unlike other gift cards, American Express Gift Cards have no fees after purchase -- no fees for activation, no fees for checking a balance, no fees for monthly servicing, no fees for card replacement, and the funds on the cards never expire. The card comes in denominations of $25, $50, $100, and $200 and has a one-time purchase fee of $3.95.
